Disney has officially announced that the highly anticipated remastered version of the beloved 16-bit classic, Gargoyles, will be released on the Nintendo Switch platform on the 19th of October. Developed by Empty Clip Studios, the announcement of Gargoyles Remastered was made in September of last year, and since then, there has been no further information regarding its release. However, a newly released trailer has confirmed that the game will be available for purchase next month.
Based on the popular 90s animated series of the same name, Gargoyles was a 2D side-scrolling platformer that loosely followed the plot of the cult classic. Originally released in 1995 on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, a SNES version was planned but later cancelled.
The remastered version of the game will feature a brand-new hand-drawn art style that closely resembles the visual style of the original cartoon, enhanced sound effects, and accessibility features such as a rewind function. In essence, the remastered version will include all the modern features and enhancements that one would expect from a remastered classic.
