Apparently Shigeru Miyamoto Super Mario Bros. Wonder involvement was little to none

Several insightful interviews have been conducted with the director of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Shiro Mouri, and its producer, Takashi Tezuka. Notably, the esteemed Shigeru Miyamoto assumed a more passive role in the development of this ambitious project, allowing the creative team to exercise their ingenuity. In an interview with IGN, Mr. Mouri and Mr. Tezuka clarified that “Mr. Miyamoto was not constantly present, whispering in our ears or exerting undue influence over the project.”

They further elaborated that “Occasionally, he would visit our workspace, offer his opinions, and make observations. Even seemingly minor comments were significant, and given my extensive experience working with Mr. Miyamoto, I was able to comprehend his implications and engage in meaningful discussions on the subject.” Super Mario Wonder is scheduled for release on the Switch platform on October 20th.
