PlatinumGames confirms New Voice Actress – Jennifer Hale – as Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3
Replacing the original voice actress. Hellena Taylor will be Jennifer Hale for Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3.
PlatinumGames director Yusuke Miyata shared in an interview with Game Informer. As he explained to the magazine, the reason for the change was due to “overlapping circumstances”. Miyata-san however noted that “Jennifer’s performance was way beyond what we could have imagined.”

The original voice actress Hellena Taylor, has been all many fans have known and some may not appreciate the change this latest third installment in the Bayonetta series. It is worth mentioning though Game Informer themselves have said, after hearing her performance, “it’s not jarring.” As a matter of contrast, original Japanese voice actress, Atsuko Tanaka will still voice the Japanese version of the game.
as for her credit, Jennifer Hale has been voicing characters across the entertainment industry for three decades. She played Samus Aran in the Metroid Prime series, Commander Shepard (female) in Mass Effect, Ashe in Overwatch, and much more. Her full list of credits can be found here.
Finally Game Informer asked Miyata-san which Bayonetta players would control and if there was a possible connection to Cereza. Miyata-san said he could “neither confirm nor deny whether this is a grown-up version of Cereza”, adding that given the use of multiverse in this title, “she could be Bayonetta from an alternate dimension who happens to look just like Cereza.
Bayonetta 3 launches for Switch on October 28, 2022.
