Hori Unveils Piranha Plant-Themed Camera for Switch 2
Peripheral maker Hori has announced a new camera accessory for the Nintendo Switch 2, modeled after the iconic Piranha Plant from the Mario series. This USB-C webcam features a flexible, detachable stem for adjustable angles and a privacy shutter designed as the plant’s mouth. Priced at approximately $44, it offers a playful alternative to Nintendo’s first-party model.
Hori has long been a trusted third-party manufacturer for Nintendo accessories, and this latest release aligns with Nintendo’s new focus on social gaming and content creation. The Piranha Plant camera will integrate with built-in video chat functions in the Switch 2, allowing players to communicate in real time during multiplayer sessions.
The camera is also compatible with streaming platforms like YouTube and Twitch, making it easier for gamers to broadcast their gameplay directly from their console. Early tests suggest that the camera supports 1080p video at 30fps, with a wide-angle lens to capture more of the player’s surroundings.
